He believes municipal planning should be thoughtful, fiscally responsible, and grounded in Barrington’s long-term needs. Growth, infrastructure, services, and budgets must be managed in a way that protects both quality of life and taxpayers.

Braxton values local food, open space, and the community connections created by farming and farm markets. He supports efforts that make it easier for residents to access locally grown food and gather around shared community traditions.

He also believes the arts are an important part of a thriving town. A vibrant arts community strengthens local culture, supports small businesses, brings people together, and helps make Barrington a more welcoming and creative place to live.

Braxton believes Barrington has a responsibility to protect the natural resources, open spaces, shoreline, and neighborhoods that make our town special.

Braxton supports expanding safe walking and biking paths so residents have more ways to get around, stay active, and enjoy the community.

He believes Barrington should continue strengthening efforts to reduce waste, reuse materials, and recycle responsibly, while encouraging practical solutions that residents and businesses can take part in.

Braxton understands that climate change affects local planning, infrastructure, public safety, water quality, and long-term costs. He supports considering those impacts when making policy decisions so Barrington can plan responsibly for the future.

He is committed to protecting active and passive recreation areas, open space, parks, fields, trails, and natural habitats for residents today and for future generations.

Braxton also recognizes that water is central to Barrington’s identity and quality of life. He supports protecting public access to water, improving water safety, and preserving the water quality of our rivers, ponds, coves, and shoreline.

He supports a growing green economy, including solar, wind, water power, sustainable building practices, and environmentally responsible business practices that help reduce costs, strengthen resilience, and protect Barrington’s future.

Braxton believes Barrington is strongest when every resident is seen, respected, and represented. Public service means working for the whole community, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, ability, income, or background.

Braxton supports policies that help residents in need, strengthen opportunity, and make Barrington a welcoming community for all.

He supports local and regional initiatives that assist residents affected by poverty, financial hardship, housing insecurity, food insecurity, and other urgent needs.

Braxton believes inclusion should be reflected not only in words but in representation, access, and decision-making. He is committed to honoring diversity and ensuring that residents of all races, genders, sexual orientations, identities, abilities, and backgrounds have a voice in town government.

He supports quality public education that prepares students to be informed, healthy, and responsible citizens. That includes age-appropriate health and sex education, civic learning, and lifelong learning opportunities for residents of all ages.

Braxton supports reproductive justice and reproductive choice, including access to reproductive health services and the freedom for individuals to make personal health decisions with dignity and privacy.

He believes Barrington needs a diverse housing stock that reflects the needs of the whole community, including single-family homes, multi-family housing, historic homes, affordable options, senior housing, and accessible structures for residents with disabilities.

Braxton supports wellness, senior outreach, and services for community members and families affected by drug and alcohol abuse. He believes compassion, prevention, treatment, and community support should all be part of the response.

He supports access to quality health care, including mental health care and reproductive health services, recognizing that healthy residents make for a stronger community.
